Nilu Kuhpour
On July 8th 1985 in a land where art & culture met for the first time and fictions & epics took their first steps in life I was born in a lovable and creative family. They called me Nilufar, the flower of the Nile, maybe that’s why I’m so fascinated by flowers.
Since my childhood I’m in love with colors, pencil and paper, they bring me magic and power. There is a scene that can never be erased from my memory and it’s when my mum hanged my painting of two ducks in a river on kitchen’s wall and encouraged me to draw more. At that moment I knew who I wanted to become.
I grew up in Karaj, a province near Tehran, studied graphic design and graduated in 2008 from academy of fine arts in Tehran which was by then my dream.
They say never stop dreaming so did I. I was keen to start a new journey, to learn, to discover. Following my ambitions and passion soon after graduation I moved to Belgium, entered the royal academy of arts in Antwerp and got my master in graphic design in 2012.
Today working as a freelance illustrator I follow the famous quote “Less is More”, I’m detailed but simple and strong. My inspiration can be anything, of course Persia my homeland has always been one of my precious idols. I’m here to help people to form their ideas in a powerful, meaningful and unique piece.
We are one not different but with differences.
I’m here to make a difference!
